Me and daryl(filming) yesterday at putnam.
again, we are newbies. but this time its faster. (I promise lizard):D still not up to racers standards, oh well. its about as fast as I can do without being over my skill level. yeah yeah yeah, I know, 1:24's are one handed laps for you lizard.:D
the first lap is of course a slower one. but once I get past that aprillia Mille R I check out :jamout
daryl geared his bike so he could keep up and it worked pretty well.
but, he doesn't know I slowed down so I could be on camera seeing how he still couldn't catch me:Pest: :D
daryl said these are actually slower lap times of the day so far. doesn't surprise me though, at this point I was getting sloppy and tired. so I backed off.
daryl damn near eats it coming out of turn 8 around 8:30. saves it and keeps on going like nothing happened. I think most guys would have went down or at least ran off in the grass. BALLS OF STEEL !!!

You're not bragging this time - it's fine. Nice touch, though - you know... the smart ass comments. Good stuff...

You gotta quit this-- it's driving me crazy!!!
"I was getting sloppy and tired. so I backed off. "
I know the feeling! It's amazing how I know I need to stay in shape but always wait til I'm a week away before a track day before I really work on it-- which does no good-- which really takes away from the latter part of the day. Plus, if you do "press on", you get dangerous. It's something us part timers (or in my case, so far, "no timers" ) need to be acutely aware of, and know when to sit one out.
"I know, 1:24's are one handed laps for you lizard."
I have done 1:18's no handed-- I was too busy fighting off red alligators with a baseball bat (always carry a baseball bat when doing a track day). They kept jumping on me at each corner!
Wait, I bet that was a dream I had-- never mind!
Excellent VID-- My RC hasn't sold yet-- I'm still breathing-- what else do I need? Oh-- ya-- a back protector! Anyone got one cheap for sale???
you want it back? im done with it now and really could use the money...seriously
and lizard any time you want to hand over some free advice my ears are open :)

the only thing I could ever brag about is, I came home and the bike is in one piece

Awesome video! I watched it twice. Now let's hope you don't apply this riding style on Sundays. :Pest: ;)
I see you have met Bob! :thumbsup
Bummer I couldn't make it. You probably would have lapped me several times. But I am already looking forward to getting back on a track next year - riding on the track is so much safer and heaps of fun. I doubt it that I will be able to do one in Sept/Oct.
Just keep the videos coming! :) :) :)

Decent video, but I couldnt watch it very long. Was there a no passing rule???
I couldnt take watching you run up the back of the bike in front and NOT passing him... almost ANYWHERE.
:)
Glad you had fun. Putnam is a nice track.

that was ped(my brother) stuck behind that bike. I got around him after turn 4 on lap 2. he really had to work for that pass riding a FZ6 I guess.

All you have to do is ask. I'm not the fastest, but I've seen the guy with the lap record there and been behind him enough to know where to go... Lap record is a 1:09 flat, by the way... Back in 2002.
All you have to do is ask.
^ Have to agree with that comment from Lizard - very helpful with any and all my questions the last two times I've been to Mid-Ohio. I don't have a lap timer on-board to see the exact time improvements, but I do feel faster around the track.
Thanks Lizard!! :thumbsup
