Do you guys know of anyone locally that stocks 1 piece suit?
I'm having a hard time getting the siving right. I've tried a few suits on at shows when I've be out of town for work. Looks like anywhere from a 46-50. The prob I have is I'll find one that fits right but from the waist to the knee is to long, or torso length is WAY to short(Oh, my twig and berries). I think I may just be screwed and not be able to find one that will fit. I do not think that I would be classified as a big guy (6ft,210lbs) but Joe Rocket does even make a suit larger than 48.
Any input from anybody would be great,
Thanks,
Mike---To much man for any suit

hey mike,
i don't have one myself (wish i did, is santa listening?;)) but i know that dbannister & jdanhires both have one and are very pleased w/them...somewhere in the neighborhood of $300 which is half of what you'd pay for an aerostich suit...
the only complaint i've heard from either of them regarding this suit is that it may be a little too warm for the july/august heat waves we get here in cincy...
use the link below to check out the suit at fieldsheer's website...they've got a pretty neat sizing system on the website as well...
http://store.fieldsheer.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=FO&Product_Code=highland1pcsuit9
600 Denier Carbolex®
· Anatomically Fit for the Riding Position
· Fieldsheer “Rainguard” 100% Waterproof/Breathable Liner
· Nylon Taffeta Lining with Removable CE Armor for the Back and Hips
· Ballistic Nylon Pockets for Removable CE Armor in the Shoulders, Elbows, Knee, Shin (CE Armor Included)
· Full Zip-Out Quilted thermal Liner
· Ram-Air Venting System
· Reflective 3MScotchlite
· Velcro Adjustable Micro Fleece Collar with Padding
· Velcro Sleeve Cinch
· Padded Lower Back
· Velcro Adjustable Waist
· Velcro Storm Flap
· 2 Front Patch Pockets
· 2 Zipped Hand Warmer Pockets, with internal zippers that allow you to get into your pant pockets
· Velcro Adjustable Wrist Cuff with Gusset
and if you're looking for leathers instead of the suit above, fieldsheer has those too...

mike,
if you're looking for an all purpose riding suit as opposed to leathers, you may want to check out BMW Tristate.
http://www.BMWTristate.com
i'd call ahead and get a ballpark on pricing, i'm pretty sure they carry joe rocket as well as BMW branded apparel...and they should have 1 piece suits...

I have never been able to find anything that really fits me I just settle for price and fuctionability...
So if you can't find something you can't live with for the price then you might have to get measured and order a set from one of the many custom leather makers....
Now if you are not looking for racing leathers then the one piece suits for the street ;the waterproof riding suits is the way to go in my opinoin because you ready for all weather conditions with all the personal protection built in and the selection is large...
As Mike said I did just get a fieldsheer suit and like it much better than wearing the leathers on the street... It was $315 to my front door in 3 days....
Vanson leathers
barnacle bills and many others make the custom leathers and I am not at home so i don't have the others handy to help right now ... anyone else can help please do?:what:

Thanks Guys,
I looking for something for the track and around town. I have alot of good deals on closeout leathers, but all sales are final, so if the size is wrong I am stuck with them.
All the pricing for custom leathers with the features I want is just way more than I want to pay. I'm looking to spend a max. of $700 but would like to stay more around $500.
But then again if our plans for racing this season washout I might just get a two piece for around town and track days.

Where have you already been? Maybe someone might have a suggestion after they see the list of shops you visited already...
Just a thought?

There aren't any shops in the Cincy/NKY area that I know of that carry leathers. Comp Assc. in dayton had a Joe rocket suit but it was like a size 40. I've been to Fay Meyers in Denver(2 piece Alpinestars) and Fastlap in D.C.(had a good selection but each brand suit fit differently).
I'm looking at getting a Teknic speedstar or violator suit, but I have found anyone who has Teknic suits in stock.

BMW Tristate doesn't offer Joe Rocket, and they don't carry one-piece suits. I would try the motorcycle store on Harrison Avenue, they carry Joe Rocket, and have quite a few leather suits. Can't recall the name right now, but go to the Joe Rocket web site, and search for a dealer in Cincinnati, they'll show up, or can anyone else supply the name and address?

Cycle Specialties is the name. I have spent a lot of money there.

Go to CycleSpecialties, they carry Teknic suits in stock. I know they have at least one Silver stone. I tried it on before I got my suit
FWIW I'm 6'2" 175-180lbs (on a good day) And I bought a one piece Teknic Chicane suit and I think it was a size 46..Can't remember now. Rob do you remember I know I told you what size it was a few weeks ago.

Thanks for the help guys,
I found a suit. It should be here on Tues. It's not extactly what I was looking for but the price was great. Go to this link and go down to the 1 piece Honda suit. I found it somewhere else for $350. http://www.newenough.com/closeouts/suits.htm

anyways i got a size 50 and i am 6' 230 and it fits great (alot better than the agv 2 piece) and i can still fit the back protector inside for the track days.

easy there, mule boy ( :, dissin' on 'stich suits. 'stiches are known to be a great example of "you get what you pay for".
but it does sound like the original poster is looking for traditional leather one-piece. but if it's for a regular suit, and fitting is the issue, aerostich has great customer support, just give 'em a call.
as for prices, best i've seen are at www.newenough.com. paul and holly are great to work with. you might want to call them up and advise of your dimensions, see what they have for you.

:what: wasn't dissin' anyone there :o
just pointing out that if all ya need is a _cold_ weather set-o-ridin' gear that you could pay less than half from fieldsheer as opposed to new price on aerostich...

I know of one other guy who bought the same suit. So we will have to all get together and ride so we can look REALLY GAY riding in a pack. Just kidding, I got a 48, fits good, and the quality is better than I thought it would be. I found the manufactures website and they list the suit for $699.99. I think at that price you can get alot more for your money elsewhere

there's about 6 of us that have 'stiches that get together at the fj rallies. we're all trying to keep different colors, maybe we can call ourselves the rainbow coalition. then again, maybe not. ( :

if you shop around, you'll find tourmaster on sale for around $300. it's not quite up to the quality and function/design of aerostich, but then it's also roughly half of a 'stich. motoport makes good textile gear, but when you add in a pair of pants to the jacket to make an equal comparison with a 'stich, they're right up there in the $700 range. belstaff also makes good gear, i believe they're a british company, and it appears they devote as much to the weather protection (considering how much it can rain in great britain) as they do to the other functions of their jackets and pants.
i've been quite happy with all four 'stiches i've owned. i just wish my body would decide on a size, and stick with it. ( :
