Big news in the AMA Flat Track world. Joe Kopp WON on his DUCATI at the Phoenix Mile this past weekend. First time a H-D hasn't won in a very long while.

Anyone interested in riding to Lexington June 19 (Mile) or Lima(1/2 Mile) on June 26 to cheer him on?
If you can't wait until then, you can go to Springfield Ill on May 29. .....of course Indy is in August on the 28th.

I believe the Lexington race has been cancelled but there is a mile race in Grove City, Ohio on August 14th.

Bring on the restriction plate!!!!!

I am going to try for Lima this year. I stopped going a few years ago for various reasons, but I have never witnessed a race event that compares to Lima for excitement and atmosphere.

According to this Feb. press release, the Ducati will be raced on the mile tracks and the Harley on the 1/2 milers, unless testing determines otherwise.

Jeff - CADRE and DesmOhio, with a possibility of Thoroughbred DOC in Louisville, are planning on getting a block of tickets for the Beulah Park race. The plan is to arrive en masse, kinda like the Red Snake at Indy. We want to show those Harley folks that Ducatisti support their race teams, no matter what the surface. When I get more details I will post it to the club membership and share it with the other presidents.

That's cool Bob. Count me in, August 14th is on the calender!
Please keep us posted if you hear that they might run the Duc at the 1/2 mile. I would be intested in going to Lima.

Way to go Joe! I had hopes for the Suzuki but a Ducati is cool, anything but a hd. Shame when Honda won and then just pulled out but that's what Honda does when they are done.
What if it was ever a Ducati, Aprilia and Suzuki 1, 2, 3 finish!

Bob,
Let me know when you go to order those tickets. I'd love to ride/sit with you guys.
Do you know if they allow infield viewing like Indy does?

I'm not ordering tickets. My credit card is already maxed out.
I will try to arrange it so that you can call and buy the tickets in the same section as everyone else. There may or may not be a discount, I will know more by the end of next week. Beulah Park is currently closed for the summer but I've found someone to answer my questions.

I have some unfortunate news to report. The Beulah race for 2010 has been cancelled.

RATS!
I guess I'll have to wait until Indy to see him race the Ducati.

I stand corrected. I have been in contact with the AMA Director of Flat Track Racing. He emphatically stated the event is definitely not canceled. A decision will be made at the end of June.
I repeat, the event is not canceled. Sorry for the confusion.
We still have hope.
