Anyone else going to be there for the Fasttrax ASR School? I'll be taking my newly acquired GS500 that I plan on racing next season and going to be using this day to get some valuable seat time!
I also have alternative motives for posting. I will be by myself and this GS is a total loss race bike. I will need some help in the bump starting and unloading department. Any help would be much appreciated and reciprocated!

Thanks, Dave.

Rick and I will be there with the school, Dave. AFA bumping the bike, there are hills for you to use there. Just make sure it starts right away before you get there.

Thanks Jim,
Does this mean your bike will be ready by the 17th? or are you just coming for technical support? I will have my brother help me bump start the GS the night before, since I will be leaving very early Wednesday morning. Thanks for posting and for helping out.

Dave.

Help in bump starting?? a TWIN??

I just had to razz you!

I raced a GS400 for years. Same state of tune. (No starter) The bike is EASY to bumpstart. Only an RD is easier.

Hey, I'll be there too. Taking pics and riding a little myself. Maybe I'll bring the Mighty Yamagranite along for fun as well.

Maybe I'm just a wuss, but I almost passed out of exhaustion trying to bump start it myself. Running along side of the bike, I couldn't put much weight on the rear wheel and it would spin or skid. Thanks for the harrassment though, I deserve it!

Did you try starting it in 2nd gear? If not you may want to try...

Actually, I was trying 3rd gear. Should I bump it in second? Is one any better than the other?

I say either gear is good for starting. When I had a 600 superbike to bump, I used 2nd usuallly. But that's why i'm saying to have it tuned up before you get there. Don't try to come to the track and do all that extra work. You will have plenty on your mind with just the school lessons, and being on track (first time, right?). You want it to fire right over, and get on the track.

My bike is not ready. I'll be there, maybe ride a borrowed machine. Pete, get ready for wheelie shots out of T3. :D
