I took this with my dad when I was a teenager. We started on 441 near the main entrance of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Follow 441 for about 2 miles and the signs for Caves Cove will be clearly marked. Turn Right I believe and there is an 11 mile, one-way, loop that takes you through some nice bridges and rock formations as it follows the river. well worth the detour if you are riding roads in the area!! I think this is only a 30 mile or so detour, but takes a good amount of time due to traffic and stopping for pictures :)

Yeah I think I did that once ON A FRIGGEN HOLIDAY WEEKEND. Took 3 hours to do that loop I think. There were people parking in the road to get out of their cars & watch the deer grazing & everything! They must have been from New York City or something & never seen deer in their lives.

yea i had that same thing happend thats why is posted what i did. i know what your talking about by people stoping and runnig around with cammeras taking pic of deer squirles racoons every thing. the week before we were there that time, some stupid person was mauled to death by a female bear with cubs because the lady was chasing the bear trying to get pictures of it, now how stupid is that. i have a rule on wildlife, i never chase anything that can cause death or dismemberment or worse hehe, at least with out a large firearm at my side

If you get up early in the AM, like just before local sunrise, or you stay up all night, you can get lots of wildlife photos including, deer grazing with the cattle in the fields. The area is generally foggy and the visitors are few and far between. Of course, weekdays things are quietest.
