I'm going to try to get the new TT there this Saturday if chance of rain is not too great.

That sounds fun. I've only had my bike on the drag stip once before and that was an 1/8 mile one. I basically suck at launching and my times are horrific, but I think my little brother would enjoy getting out and seeing all the other cool vehicles.
Thanks for the info

I'm going to try to get the new TT there this Saturday if chance of rain is not too great. I've lived within 10-15 miles on this track most of my life, yet I've never actually been there. I wasn't aware that they ever allowed motorcyces to run, although I guess Test & Tune is pretty much open to anything, right?
Do they have any special requirements for the motorcycles and/or rider? I looked their entire website over and found ZERO info on motorcycles (not even a single pic out of 400+).

You didnt see this?
quote from website:
...motorcycle riders must have full protective gear to participate. All bikes are allowed with the exception of cookie cutter Triumphs. These bikes tend to explode when ridden hard, and we don't want to clean up the oil...

T&T open to anything, even minivans!
Tech inspection is just a suggestion there. Fill out your card & take your bike to the tech area. The guy checks to see that it's a motorcycle, basically. About the only thing he asks is if your bike has a number plate. Mount a number plate of some sort on the right side of the bike, write either the number on your tech card or make up a number. I guess if you have a dark colored bike you could use the white shoe polish to write a number on the bodywork also. Write large enough so the people in the tower can read it.
Basic gear + helmet recommended but I've seen a few people wearing jeans. I don't recall if a few riders wore sneakers, but boots are better.

That's because they don't have a class for motorcycles on race days.

I would be interested in coming to watch you guys, but not sure if I will be able to swing it. Will there be others running their bikes as well (or are you one bike in a sea of racing cagers)?

Do they do Bike vs Bike only? I'm assuming they dont line up cars and bikes during T&T.

Two piece leathers are fine and don't forget your kill switch. Most tracks require a taillight when it gets dark also.
Sorry Phil, no running against cages.

The couple of times I have been out there motorcycles have run against cars. There were some impressive motorcycles out there as well, Busas doing low low 8s. Also guys ridin' 10 second wheelies. It was a good time everytime I was there.

You don't need a tether or anything like that on the killswitch at Tri State. I've been there 2 times in July & the tech guy didn't even step within 20 feet of the bike. I took off the tether at Tri State because it just gets in the way.
There's usually a dozen or so bikes there, but there is a Prostar event in Memphis this weekend, so I'm not sure if any "regulars" will not be there. Also, if there's a decent chance of rain, that keeps people away & you can do more runs. Last time I was there I think I did 14 runs, and could have done more.
Normally they line up bike vs. bike. I don't think I've seen any bike/car runs. That wouldn't be very safe for the bike person.
They're only running until 6 pm so I don't think darkness will be a factor for the tail light, but a streetbike is going to have a tail light anyway (hopefully working!)

Looks like it will be wet in the morning but hopefully the track will be dry by 2pm. We're still planning on being there, but will call the track before leaving to get the status.
Got a bit more work to do to the bike tonight to get it lowered properly.
Spectators welcome. It's pretty cheap entertainment at $5 for 4 hours.

Thinking about going to Tri State again tomorrow. Looks like a chance of rain in the morning. Hopefully none in the afternoon.
If anyone was wondering, there were only 5 or 6 bikes there last week.

Nope, I was too busy on the track. Maybe we'll bring the camera tomorrow.
