Here is the latest:

I'm fine, still sore, but o.k. I didn't miss a day at work, and all my medical bills come to a whopping $25 :D

The bike suffered, but it helped that I stayed upright. The full yosh system will have to be replaced (ouch) :mrt:
A part on the tail-piece plastic, some brackets, a turn signal, etc...all together maybe a grand. Maybe I can sell some of the right hand exhaust parts on ebay, to soften the blow.

This will not deter me from future track days, but I'm not sure if I want to go in the Street group again. Or maybe I just hold my own little speech at the rider briefing. :D

I know I won't be able to wait until Fall for the next track-day, so I'll look elswhere. Mid-ohio maybe? or Putnam with STT?

Thanks to all for your concern and support.

I had a great time even with the rain and first session incident. I am also looking at the July STT Putnam event and again in Sept with Cycle Options. I'd like the track and would like to get my better my lap times. I'll see you there Evil.

We've been at a lot of the STT Track Days at several different tracks, and they definitely run a tight program. Three groups - Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced - running alternating 20 minute sessions. The Advanced group is usually the smallest, and definitely the fastest. To be in that group you have to have done several Track Days with STT, or hold a race license. The Novice group - little or no track experience - is paced by control riders every session, and the Intermediate has control riders holding the pace for the first one or two laps every session before they turn you loose. They also stay out there and keep an eye on things after the warm up lap. While having the control riders doesnt eliminate ALL the problems, they do seem to have less crashes than most.

Glad you're ok :thumbsup

Thats good to hear. Im thinkin about a Mid-Ohio track day, in the not too distant future. Problem is, they are usally during the week, with STT. Gotta take off of work for that. Let me know what you decide on. And if needed, and the wife decides not to do the track day with me. I can haul your bike for ya.

Yeah, I struggled with grip all day as i couldn't get the tires warm thus they were moving around and playing games with the suspension. I did get to pass quite a few in the advance group on the outside of 8 and 9-10 combo.

That had to be the worst day for crashing I have ever seen. Evil Twin we were watching to see if they would let you out with one exhaust can and one open baffle, but it is a good thing you didn't as that could have leaned you out and done damage to the motor.

I only made 3 sessions and first session was scrubbing tires in and only did about 4 laps.

STT beginner group is much better then Cycle Options. It is controled in the morning with a more follow the leader type format then let loose in the afternoon. The whole situation with that T1 incident was strange, if it wasn't structured then there was no reason for 8-10 bikes to be nose to tail like that on the straight away so early in the session, but that guy should not have trying to go that quick that early in the session on a questionable track.
