Amazing, I was just thinking on making a spring loaded chain tensioner. That looks like a good one. Thanks for posting.

1 hole mounting? You need at least 2 to keep this from rotating to a neutral position and that would have to be a helluva little spring to keep tension under torque.

Only if you can't tighten a bolt. But if you are a builder. You probably have a drill if you need a second hole.

I think it would be mounted on the "slack" side of the chain so it wouldn't be fighting the tension of the 'driven' side.
