You've already bought about 33% of all KZ/ZN 1300's within a 500-mile radius!

Re: Looking for 6cyl kawasaki Voyager

A 1500 or 1800 Goldwing would give you that 6 cyl roar, be easier to find, and has reverse. The 1800 has a 5 bolt rear wheel.

If you have never hear a Goldwing uncorked... They sound a lot like a CBX

Re: Looking for 6cyl kawasaki Voyager

Ray,
You must have been reading my mind. I was thinking about that too. I'm going to see if I can find some sound clips of a uncorked GW.

I thought I was on to something with the Kawasaki 6 but they seem to have some issues. But they do have a great sound...

If you decide to go that route, let me know. I know a guy that does trike conversions. I think he may have a savage GL1800 in his shop.

Pluse you can go dark side and mount a car tire to the back wheel of a wing.

Hey Dave. Back in early June-2010 we talked about this project in person, and then again online later that month (don't ask me why or how I remember the time frame! Hehe). I was TRYING to talk you into a GL engine because of the reverse, the availability, and the overall more practical application. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you're not building something practical nor has that ever been your intent. Your original intent was to build a high-revving Indycar-style reverse trike that screams, sounds great, that's different, and has sex appeal. I'm gonna hafta flip-flop on my original stance, and say I think you should stick with the original design in your head, go with the KZ/Z/ZN1300 engine, or at least with something more inline with that engine. Stay with the exotic, not with the practical. Since when do you ever build anything because it makes sense? The next thing you're gonna tell me, is that you're dropping an S&S V-Twin into it, because easier to obtain and they make aftermarket parts that fit it.

Oh hell, I didn't realize that's what this thread is about. Here's something that is purty damn exotic, definitely screams, and certainly isn't practical. Check it out! I dare ya to build this....

Re: Looking for 6cyl kawasaki Voyager

Tom,
You are right. I think I'm just so bummed about this turd it's kinda soured me against the Kawasaki.

I'm slowly coming out of it and even found another one local. I talked to the guy before I found this one. I have a STRONG feeling it's the same one you found in Mt. Orab. It had a kinda serious elec. problem he said, after a short ride all the wiring starts to get hot and blow fuses. Now with a "parts turd" that doesn't scare me so much.

Thanks for reminding me I'm really just not right in the head, I needed that! BTW, I will NEVER build a hd powerd project ( I do reserve the right to get a REAL XR750, like that one on Ebay now, but thats a long shot)

BTW, I have an idea for a early 60's Renault Dauphine, once called the worst car EVER built. If I ever finish the projects I have going now.

Re: Looking for 6cyl kawasaki Voyager

I think I'm back now. Heck, if I find another 1300 and this turd one is fixable I'm thinking putting them both in! 2600cc and maybe 280ish hp?

That's the Dauphine. Rear drive, rear engine. Not only they say the worst car ever but maybe the ugliest too. I kinda have one located in Hamilton. We tried to move it but the wheels are rusted to the spindals or some thing, cause it would not roll, drag yes, roll no. I gave up getting it with my trailer and figured a flat bed wrecker is what it will take. BTW, they have 3 lugs on the wheels and I think 12" tires. You gotta love it.

Re: Looking for 6cyl kawasaki Voyager

I think I saw that top one on ebay, NOW thats a turd. I think I can fix my turdy engine for less that that other engine.

I still haven't heard from the guy with the one with bad wiring. Sometimes you just have to let fate take a hand...

Still looking!

BTW, I did find some sounds of 6cyl. Wings, actually not bad uncorked, not Ferrari sexy like a CBX or Kawasaki, but not bad, maybe Poershe like?
