Looking for 650 V-Strom

Greetings!
It looks like I might be able to do my planned 2018 trip to Alaska after all But first: I need a bike to do it on! I'm hoping that someone either has or knows of someone that might have a Suzuki 650 V-Strom for sale. I've narrowed my bikes of choice down to several, but the V-Strom seems to be the one that I am most likely to be able to find in my price range and still be able to do the trip.
There is one for sale local that I am going to look at, but was hoping that someone might have a lead on others.

Thanks!
Scott

Re: Looking for 650 V-Strom

I have a 2006 six fiddy that's set up pretty nice that I'd likely sell. I haven't put it up for sale yet but I'm likely to sell it this spring and my 2008 Multistrada as well.

PM me if you'd like to take a look at it. I'm on the eastside near Beechmont and 275 Union Twp.

Regards
Scott

Hey there, stranger! Haven't heard from you in a month of Sundays. I hope this impending sale means you've got your eyes on something nice to ride with us in the future...say, a new Motus? Hope all is well with you and you've just been busy having too much fun the last couple of years. I miss riding with your big dumb ass!!!

Scott#1: I can speak to this being a nice bike. Scott#2 keeps his bikes in very fine shape--unlike Bannister --and you won't be disappointed. If I recall correctly, it's been farkled nicely to address the known shortcomings of the Gen1 Weestroms, i.e., suspension upgrades, engine guards, bash plate plus more. As a long term Wee owner/rider, I can also highly recommend them as fine little bikes that pretty much do it all with minimum maintenance and drama. About as simple and reliable as a 24 oz framing hammer. If your body can make the trip to Alaska, this bike can take you there.

What the heck to mean gramps! One time my shifter breaks and I need a chain on a trip like 8 years ago and this is the treatment I get ha!

Yes Scott's bike I've probably seen/rode with at least 30K or so and never saw him launch it through the air and very little gravel nor did he run street knobbies. Can say it runs good and well taken care of!

friend of mine that has decided to go a different direction at this time. His bikes are always well sorted and this one doesn't have enough miles to be called anything but new.

Re: Looking for 650 V-Strom

I find it interesting that the second line of his post is: "Will not Part out"... do people really ask to part out bikes with only 600 miles?

Felby: I'm sure he's saying that he won't de-farkle the bike of extras and sell them separately. Wee's are known for being spec'd with bargain basement suspension and other standard features, so most Wee owners put a significant chunk of dough into aftermarket upgrades.

Makes sense, thanks for the enlightenment!
