Merry Ho-Ho! Post up your Best present yet?

Merry Christmas to all and a Happy Harmonica and for all the rest of us it's Festivus!

I have been so blessed this year, the best is 2 new grand kids! Time for more ATV's.

But as far as physical presents the best may be a subscription to Cafe Racer magazine.

Maybe post up your Fav's, especially good if small thoughtfull stuff.

Congrats on the Grandfather status. I became one at age 42 and it is the coolest thing ever! Spoil them and have fun without the serious stuff.

My best present (other than my girls) is the Sprint ST I bought myself a couple weeks ago.

got my 3 ton chain hoist and bench vise... shop is coming together, now i have to hook my 3 ton chain hoist to my 1000lb garage (ok its a lil bigger but not much).

My father got *himself* a 78 fj40 landcruiser for *US* to work on, neither of us having a garage big enough to work on it in... gotta build a bigger one for myself

Re: Merry Ho-Ho! Post up your Best present yet?

I bought a 420fps CO2/air BB pistol a couple months ago. My kids and I have had a lot of fun with it. Because of this, my mom and dad bought my two youngest kids (6yr/old and 9yr/old) Red Ryder BB rifles for Christmas, as well as my brother's youngest kids. Rather than give my 13yr/old one too, they gave her a gift card because.... well, teenage girls like to shop.

The Red Ryders have been fun, but I wanted one for myself. So I used some of my Christmas money and bought myself an 800fps multi-pump pellet/BB rifle, much like one that I had as a kid. I'm a decent shot with the conventional forward/rear sites, but I struggle with the scope that came with it. I spent a couple hours dialing it in the best that I could, but in the end, I'm just not a sniper.

My 13yr/old has taken a liking to the new pump rifle. She immediately proved to be a fairly good shot, although had a tough time deciding which way felt more comfortable for her, left or right handed. She is dominate right, but does a lot of stuff left (or both), like softball. She seems to be a slightly better shot right. But only slightly.

We have a larger back yard and our deck overlooks the yard. It is an ideal outdoor shooting range. We've been shooting pretty much every day for the past couple weeks. We have a variety of targets laid out. Gallon jugs of various colored liquids, cans of rotten tomatoes, pizza boxes, conventional range targets, etc etc. You know, normal stuff. She can hit a tin can at about 100ft, left or right handed. I can't. I'm lucky if I can hit a gallon jug at that distance.

Local friend, enthusiast, and father of two local female riders (one of which is a LocalRider) has been working on me for a while now to get the girls into a local shooting program. I took the 13yr/old last night to the first weekly meeting. She shot a .22 bolt-action target rifle for the first time. They had a tough time deciding if she was a lefty or a rightly, but decided to go with a left-handed gun for the first night. Her groupings were pretty tight, and IMHO fairly impressive for her first shots ever. She will probably shoot right-handed next week.

Seeing my kids do well.... that's probably my best Christmas present. Well, that and knowing that I have someone in my family with enough skill to fight off the first round of intruders in the coming zombie apocalypse.
