Thanks for changing the poll Tom. The word "traibraking" has burned a permanent spot into my monitor.

I voted for "Twist of the Wrist", but with an asterisk; "Twist of the Wrist II" seemed to have better info for all around riding

this has nothing to do with proficient m/c riding, but i'm reading "two wheels through terror", an account of a m/clist's adventure to the southern tip of south america and back, including his being taken hostage by political terrorists for 5 weeks. it's been very entertaining so far.

I saw the interview he gave 48 hours. This guy was a Hells Angel member, 5th degree black belt and the terrorist made him call them daddy. He wasn't to happy about that. After he was released his friends sent him another bike and he finished his trip. I personally like the books MotoRaid, Ghost Rider and Jupiters Adventures. You can tell I like the touring books better.

if this is any indication how tough this dude is/was, he finally decided to fake a serious medical condition. he'd claimed all along during his captivity that he had prostate cancer and needed medicine available only from the u.s., hoping that would win his release. when his terrorist captors didn't believe him, he resorted to shoving a key up his nose, keeping it there, and at night when bad guys weren't looking, he'd whack himself in the nose, causing himself to bleed, would then lean over and let it bleed onto his crotch. then for the next few days he'd remind them of his cancer, and how it was obviously becoming extremely serious. he realized just cutting his arm or leg for the blood wouldn't work, they'd check him for self-inflicted wounds, hence the nosebleeds.

Re: Popularity Vote: Which book do you like best?

I learned everythink I need to know about riding from Playboy Forums....

I'm surprised that was not one of the options.

Re: Popularity Vote: Which book do you like best?

I've only read one of your choices, but it was difficult for me to understand many of the concepts the "Twist" series, not to mention they put me to sleep. Maybe that's why I suck at roadracing. Maybe his stuff is easier to understand if he is speaking to you, but he's not the greatest communicator on paper (IMO).
I do have the larger MSF course book (well actually Robin has it at the moment.) That was easier to understand. Maybe it's a "blonde" thing?

Re: Popularity Vote: Which book do you like best?

Does this poll really need to be at the top of the page every morning?
I don't think it's a very popular topic anymore, seeing how the last relevant post was made a week ago. Maybe it's just me, I dunno.
