Kauai Route

Kauai is pretty much not as touristy as Oahu, and there is only one main highway going through the island. From the airport you need to catch Kuhio hwy. You will pass through Lihue (they have a walmart AND a Kmart) and just stay on the road. You will pass poipu beach (tourist trap) and also see lots of sugar cane and other cool stuff. After about 30 minutes you will come to a town called Kekaha. Here is where my grandparents live. A small town formed around a sugarcane plant. Wide open beaches and laid back for sure. After Kekaha you can get on the road to the Waiamea Canyon. This is the mini-grand canyon. Great roads and awesome views. Super from the seat of a bike and you will be impressed.
